Spelling Spelling homework is given Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and must be completed front-and-back. Each assignment is unique to their specified day. Thursday evening, on the backside students are asked to write the words they misspelled on the pretest. Please refer to their graded pretest from earlier that day. If students did not miss any words, they are not expected to complete this section. Forgot your homework at school? No problem! Above you will find downloadable and printable homework assignments. If you do not have access to a printer, you may copy your work onto a piece of paper. Be sure to include headings and directions.

Math Spelling homework is given every night, except weekends, and must be completed on a Saxon Math worksheet, found above. Students may also be given a study guide to review at home for upcoming tests. Tests are given every five lessons. For example, test one will include lessons 1-5, and test two will include lessons 6-10. Per the Saxon method, each test may include a problem from any of the previous lessons. |
Book Reports and Poems Each grading period, students are asked to complete a book report. Book reports are to be done on a book just completed, must be 150 or more pages, and may not be "diary" style, like Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Book report instructions are to be handed out by the teacher. Late Book Reports or incomplete book reports will not be accepted. Students will receive a zero. Poems are also assigned each grading period and are sent home with your student by the teacher. Students are given one poem or a variety of poems to choose from to memorize and recite in front of the class. Poem memorizations must be completed on the due date. Students are graded on memorization, posture, eye contact, proper pauses and emotion, and voice clarity. Each of the above count as 10% of their final Reading grade.
